thinking back last summer

... and dreaming up plans for next summer.

Some days ago I browsed through my computer and traced some photos of myself around one lovely country - Spain. So this is me in my element: traveling.

Pictures in random order...

Start of the trip: Bilbao - bad(ish) weather, hah. :D
After that: San Sebastian - nice and good! Sunny.
Followed by: Zaragoza - a dose of culture.
Last stop: Madrid - big city heat. Loved it.
In total: two weeks of happiness.

This is my travel-mate Kristiina. She's cool (and she took the pictures above).

Summer: please come back quickly!

2013 randomly

I had a lovely year. I have spent my time mainly in Finland, but also in Great Britain, Spain and Turkey. I have loved the many visits to my boyfriend's summer place, but Helsinki is always a good place to come back.

2013 in pictures - I enjoyed summer time the most this year. :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014! :)

extreme haste

Phew! I mean... I have been really busy with school. Our class is going to participate in the biggest international textile fair, Heimtextil , in Frankfurt next January (!).

Go check out our project blog and have a look at what it's all about. We are on Facebook too! :)

life and other stuff

A pause in posting - a moment for living.

After a whole harsh week of an entrance exam I flew to Spain with a friend. We explored four different cities: Bilbao, San Sebastian, Zaragoza and Madrid. It was an efficient, yet brilliant two-week trip. Especially the Basque Country had some of the most beautiful views I've seen!

**
About the applying results. I made my way one point behind a backup place (Fin: pisteen päähän varasijasta). Not so bad to get ranked somewhere in the top 20. I did not get in, but I will happily continue my studies in textile design at Metropolia University. :)

I tend to promise more pictures and stories of my trips, and what I've learned is the fact that it's surprisingly hard to keep those promises... Never did another post about London + Sheffield + York. I have quite a load of photos taken in my camera / phone this time too, so we'll see what happens.

I will be busy with many positive things this summer. If you can, go and enjoy your time in the sun! :D

great

Correct, it is London. I came back a little over a week ago and as soon as I have the time I'll post some more pictures + the longer version of the whole story.

Besides London I also visited Sheffield and York. It made me super happy to discover a store with a rather comprehensive range of fair trade jewelry (amongst everything else). Here are pics of my wonderful pieces, that have already been in efficient use. They are from York, which has had the status as a 'Fairt Trade City' since 2004.

imagining myself a home under the sun

Now the temperatures are back to boring (=zero) and the whole city has turned into a living mayhem of grey. Right now I'm dreaming of a sweet little house in... hmm, Croatia maybe... Here are my current deco-feelings.

I chose my favorite colorful pieces by Indiska. And to get deeper into the right mood I browsed through my laptop and chose a few pics of our beautiful trip to Croatia:

Waiting for the spring already - have a pretty day!

Kohvik Kompott

What a creative way to use a kitchen grater!

We visited Tallinn, Estonia with a bunch of friends last weekend. With a few of them we decided to take a round in the old town to see if we could find a nice place for brunch. We sure found one - Kohvik Kompott can be found at street Pikk 30. We loved the place and I can warmly recommend it if you ever happen to visit Tallinn.

All of us paid around 10 euros each, and my meal consisted of a pot of peppermint tea (with fresh leaves!), large wok-vegetable main dish and for dessert the five of us shared waffles with jam and whipped cream. The thing was to make the waffles while sitting around the table, so you could define the size and crispiness yourself. Very handy. :) Everything was so, so good.

Big like.
