The weeks have gone by so fast. This monday we started a new course at school - textile printing. And I am excited! In the morning I felt like doodling a bit, so I sketched this drawing that I might well use in printing on canvas. I'm only wondering how I should use the end result... Maybe I'll grab some old pillowcases and t-shirts with me tomorrow. :)

And the other day we used these lovely flowers as a basis for a task.

Movember

Late at night when you know you should be doing school stuff, what do you do? You draw a man that kinda looks like an old movie star but with unconventional hair, mustache and some feminine features. I did no pre drafting on this piece... I think that's why it became so wacky. The drawing is my way of saying GO for MOVEMBER!

as easy as it gets

There are various ways of making your smartphone do art almost by itself. I got a hint from a friend and soon after I made the following pictures - it's an app called Sketch Free. Extremely, almost ridiculously easy for anybody to create interesting mobile drawings.

a birthday card

Age is richness.

It's already some time ago when we celebrated my friend's birthday. I took a picture of the card I made her. For me this is the only kind of "gift" where the full meaning of congratulation comes along. 

Oh gosh, almost a full month since my last post... When the school starts I hope I'll do more stuff that can stir up some inspiration for the blog too. :)

so far...

Now, at last, I'm going to release the works that got me into the exams at Metropolia / graphic design. First the layout of the motivation letter, then the piece based on the lyrics of an old Finnish song and then the superhero cartoon with some photos of its details. Behold! :D

So now I'm just hoping sooo very, very deeply that the entrance exam will go well. I'm relieved to get even this far.

This morning I slapped myself on the face and finally began to draw.


I'm very sorry for being not too active with my blog lately. I like blogging and that's the main reason why I'll try harder to post more often in the future. My creativity just took a pause there...

Siitä on nyt tovi vierähtänyt, kun meillä oli koulussa valintakoevalmennusta. Leikimme siis pääsykokeita ja meillä oli pari-kolme tuntia aikaa vääntää tehtävänannon mukainen tuotos. Ekaksi tehtäväksi tuli luonnonmullistuksen kuvaaminen A3 -koossa:

Yrittää siis esittää tsunamia, jota pienet ihmisparat pakenevat kylään/kaupunkiin. Kun kävimme töitä läpi sain palautteena mm. viinirypäleitä ja peltoa. Heh.. :D Tykkäsin tehtävästä ja sain sen aika mukavassa ajassa valmiiksi, mutta seuraava tehtävä oli vieläkin kiinnostavampi. Hommaksi siunaantui suunnitella Marimekolle kevätkuosi kahdessa värissä sekä lisäksi mustavalkoisena. Kuosi piti nimetä ja havainnollistaa kolmessa eri käyttötarkoituksessa. Siispä tuumasta toimeen, kahdelle A3 -paperille alettiin luoda ja tällaiseen ilmeeseen päädyin itse:
