hmm... some nice ideas for Christmas

Have you visited astubutiikkiin.fi lately? I think I have an idea of what I wish for Christmas this year...

I admire HienoStella's way of creating both delightful jewelry and innovative interior pieces from recycled bicycle parts. For some weeks I have craved for these beauties as seen at astubutiikkiin.fi:

The charming little Pohjantähti -candle holders would go great with my linen tablecloth, which rests on our kitchen table.

I already gave a loving home for a pair of beautiful HienoStella -earrings when we celebrated the AB launch event back in August. How about these then?

Christmas is tapping doors very soon, so be well, behave well and eat well. :)

Well actually in the bag print she must be deeply yearning for the fish.

These three are soon to be kitchen towels. The theme is very Finland-oriented and the outcome reminds me of our northern nature, largely because of the raw linen fabric and the earthy colors.

The textile printing course will be continued...

The weeks have gone by so fast. This monday we started a new course at school - textile printing. And I am excited! In the morning I felt like doodling a bit, so I sketched this drawing that I might well use in printing on canvas. I'm only wondering how I should use the end result... Maybe I'll grab some old pillowcases and t-shirts with me tomorrow. :)

And the other day we used these lovely flowers as a basis for a task.

This morning the weather was supremely cold here in Helsinki. I was sipping my coffee, doing the laundry and sighing as the sunlight was shimmering through my living room curtains. I have been inside the house last few days due to the irritating cough and runny nose of mine. Feeling better already, though.

bits of '12 here and there

My year felt surprisingly short but was still pleasantly happy. There were many good moments with many lovely people. I even managed to get myself a student status, which is very nice.

I hope the next year will greet me with loads of beautiful colors, new adventures, smiles and interesting opportunities. I promise to keep my eyes and mind open.
