a good morning

Yesterday I ate breakfast when it was already bright outside.

I start my days very often with coffee & muesli with nuts, sunflower seeds and lovely minced Hippophae rhamnoides - sea buckthorn powder to put it more clearly (Fin: jauhettu tyrnimarja). Sometimes I add crushed linseeds among the mix (Fin: pellavansiemenrouhe).

I can not leave the house without a proper amount of energy and this is the ordinary way for me getting it.

2013 randomly

I had a lovely year. I have spent my time mainly in Finland, but also in Great Britain, Spain and Turkey. I have loved the many visits to my boyfriend's summer place, but Helsinki is always a good place to come back.

2013 in pictures - I enjoyed summer time the most this year. :)

goliath beetle

I dug out some pictures from my laptop... Earlier this year I remember having a mood for painting. One day I got really fascinated by this huge book for children, called Animals of the World. It is made during the 80's and it's beautifully illustrated by Check illustrators.

This kind of beetle is considered to be the world's biggest, by the way. My version of the beetle is somewhat similar to the original, but not entirely the same (e.g. proportions). Painting this goliath beetle made me think back to my childhood, when I used to learn how to draw, just by looking at pictures in books, comics, magazines, children's TV series and movies. Good old times.

being neutral. not.

Sometimes my color scale in clothing moves within neutral tones.
Sometimes there is nothing neutral in my clothing.

The tights got a brutal taste of a fork, but the jeans were like that when I bought them. Somehow I end up wearing leggings very often, though.

How intriguing would it be if I tried to create a pair of leggings with the same kind of hole-knit as in this sample? Very, if you ask me! I made this small piece during our knitting course.

I've heard someone say it's lame to take too many pictures of your own legs. This post is kind of about the legs. And I'd rather not take any duck face pictures of myself.

this is a beanie

So there's a thing called DIY. Some time ago I made myself a crocheted beanie with a mint green pompom (can't find any pleasing word for that thingie).

How cute indeed - that's why I have to add also the following picture to the context, so that the whole post wouldn't get too yucky. This poor umbrella begun it's maiden voyage and lasted for about 45 pitiful minutes. Pathetic. End of story.

Movember

Late at night when you know you should be doing school stuff, what do you do? You draw a man that kinda looks like an old movie star but with unconventional hair, mustache and some feminine features. I did no pre drafting on this piece... I think that's why it became so wacky. The drawing is my way of saying GO for MOVEMBER!
