I did a version of a card originally illustrated by Rudolf Koivu, one of Finland's most beloved illustrators.

This is another one of those days when I'm not too happy with the quality of pictures that I've taken with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S). Minor thing, after all. Today though, once again, it shut itself down without any warning, after which it took half an hour to restart. Yeah I know, take the damn thing somewhere to be fixed. My old and ugly phones used to last long times in use, showing no signs of dysfunction.

Makes me wonder if things will get any better by the year 20XX as seen in the card up above... ;)

a birthday card

Age is richness.

It's already some time ago when we celebrated my friend's birthday. I took a picture of the card I made her. For me this is the only kind of "gift" where the full meaning of congratulation comes along. 

Oh gosh, almost a full month since my last post... When the school starts I hope I'll do more stuff that can stir up some inspiration for the blog too. :)

ennakkotehtävä - Super Edition

The word 'super' derives from two things today. Firstly I got an exam invitation letter from the last school I applied to, School of Arts, Design and Architecture! Happy happy! Secondly the word 'super' is for the amount of the following photos and the time spent on editing them. If you own a crappy camera, you have to retouch the images and nothing changes that fact, ever. At least that's how it goes for me, damn you perfectionism. Oh well.


This photo of me was originally taken for this CULT magazine, not for the layout of the Metropolia motivation letter. Feather earrings are somewhat my trademark. Now BAM, here's my fanzine:

I came across a little accident which almost caused me a trauma. I noticed at the printing place that the title font is incorrect throughout the whole magazine. In the upper pic you can see how it should've looked like.


I also made a card with info graphics which was required in the assignment.

All this took many long hours. I'm happy that all the work paid off.

My friend turned 25 today and I sent him this. We are planning a four-person trip to Croatia next summer and that gave me the idea for the card.

Happily Ever After! Tässä hiljattainen tussilla piirretty rakkaustekele. Jälleen poikaystäväni äidin pyynnöstä taiteilin kortin hääparille - edellinen postaus vastaavalla asiasisällöllä löytyy tästä. Lähdimme hakemaan kesäistä aihetta ja kukat sopivat toki varsin hyvin kuvaan. Että semmoista! :)

Nyt jyllää taas vimma sisustaa! Käytiin poikaystävän kanssa Oulussa mökkireissulla parisen viikkoa sitten ja tutustuin Oulun keskustassa ihanaan pikkuiseen non boutique designkauppaan. Tahdon nyt jakaa kanssanne sieltä ostetun mainion keittiöaiheisen Polkka Jam -kortin, joka pääsi kehyksiin. Ostin mustanruskeat kehykset Ikeasta, mistä tarttui lapaseen kyllä muutakin... köh.

Serkulla on huomenna valmistujaiset ja tein hänelle kortin (piirsin, skannasin, värit photarilla). Tästä huomaa, miten uskomattoman iso ero (!) voi olla väreissä, kun vertaa koneen näyttöä ja tulostetta. Meillä on ihan kelpo printteri, mutta ei oo meikältä sit kai mahdollista saada semmoista tulostusjälkeä kun tahdon...
